Happy Thursday!
We are one more day away from the weekend. I shared on Tuesday my Travel Guide for Charleston, South Carolina. Today I wanted to share the second part of our trip and where we spent most of our time in Folly Beach. Folly Beach is located on Folly Island which is about a 20-30 minute drive from Downtown Charleston.

Where to Stay:
There are only a couple of hotels on the island. The biggest hotel is Tides. Tides is where all of the wedding festivities were held, like the welcome party and beach party the day after the wedding. A lot of people stayed here but we opted to stay at a rental home just a couple blocks down the road. I couldn’t recommend it enough especially if you are going with a larger group or your family. The groomsmen stayed in the house next door to us, so that was fun to be right next to our friends!

Where to Eat:
Taco Boy is located on Center street. Center street is the main drag in Folly Beach where most of the restaurants and bars are located. They also have a location in Charleston and one coming soon in Summerville. We had lunch at Taco Boy before the beach party the day after the wedding. Everyone enjoyed their food and the girl who was our server was so kind and patient, especially with the boys I was with! I had a taco salad that was delicious and lots of Margaritas. Margaritas are probably one of my favorite things to drink on a beach vacation. It just makes me feel like summer has arrived!
Loggerheads Beach Bar and Grill
Loggerheads is located about three blocks from the Tides Hotel and close to the beach, this restaurant is located on Ashley so not on center street where most of the other restaurants are. Loggerheads has a great upper deck and live music! We came here after a long beach day, so we were winding down for the night. This would be a great place to have a drink, listen to some music and feel the cool breeze of the ocean on their deck!

I think this has to be the most popular breakfast place on the island. They only serve breakfast and lunch. The Lost dog is located right off of center street on Huron. When Rhys and I got there on a Friday at 11am, the wait was over thirty minutes. Luckily there was a spot open at the bar, so we just bellied up there. Rhys had the shrimp and grits, they were incredibly delicious! I would go back to have those. I also had a bagel sandwich with Roasted tomato cream cheese that was divine. They have pictures of dogs all over the restaurant, which was such a cute touch!
The decor, the drinks and the food is so good at Wiki Wiki! Enjoy lunch, dinner or brunch on the weekends. Their style and decor is totally mid century modern, which is everything I love so I felt right at home. They have a rooftop and a private dining space if you ever want to host a party or come with a big group like we did! I would suggest here as my number one place for dinner in Folly Beach!
Transportation:
We didn’t rent a car because most of the time was going to be spent on the island. For the one day we went to Downtown Charleston we just ubered which was the easiest way to go for us. While you are on the island though, you will see a lot of people driving around in Golf Carts. They even have designated spaces you can park them in the center of town. Our rental had one but we weren’t allowed to use it, but the boys who stayed next door to us had one that held 8 people!
Tip: If you stay at a rental home check beforehand if they have one available for your use. If not, check out Folly Beach Golf Cart rentals if you would like to rent one!
We also walked around the island most of the time. I took an uber home once because it was late at night, it was really dark and I was going home alone!

On our last day in Folly, we actually enjoyed the beach. There were so many people out and even a wedding. We did a lot of day drinking and took some strolls by the water, but I didn’t think it was hot enough to be fully in my bathing suit! It was actually the perfect weather.

The people of South Carolina couldn’t have been nicer in Charleston and on Folly Island. I would definitely recommend Folly Beach for your family with or without children, Bachelor and Bachelorette parties, weddings etc. Hope you enjoyed this post and I can’t wait to hear if you tried any of my recommendations!
