We are having the perfect Spring day in Chicago! The weather is in the 70’s, patios are filled, people are out exercising its like the city has come alive again. It’s also great to be back on here. I haven’t written a blog post in a while, because truthfully I have been so uninspired. Trying to find a new job is soul sucking and frustrating. I am thankful for this platform and our brand to keep me busy and another part time job that I have, but trying to find the best “fit” has been a struggle. I am hoping with the improvement in the weather plus forcing myself to publish here every thursday will help me to be more inspired!
Spring is probably the hardest season for me to dress for in Chicago. The weather is always so up and down. We have experienced snow, rain and lots of sunshine already this week. I naturally run really cold, so I like to have a lot of jackets or layered pieces in my wardrobe for this kind of weather. My Moto jacket from Zara is the perfect color and transition piece. I can pair it with jeans, skirts and dresses.I usually am not attracted to a colored shoe, but I was so into the red bootie trend this season. I found these at Zara but linked similar below. I rarely ever wear flats because I don’t find them to be comfortable and I really don’t think they do anything for my legs. So I typically wear booties throughout the spring season too and then transition right into opened toed shoes.
These high waisted jeans from H&M were a great find for less than $50! I love anything high waisted, but I have such a hard time finding jeans that I actually like to wear. I know that a lot of other friends have expressed how much they despise shopping for denim, why do you think that is? Do you think it’s because you are more constrained? Every denim brand and style runs differently in size? There are so many options how do you decide? Those are the things I typically struggle with. I have wider hips, a booty and a smaller waist so it’s hard to me to find a size and style that works. Typically I just end up rotating the same five styles in my closet, because they are the ones I am most comfortable in. You can shop these exact jeans below!
