This past weekend I attended a Bachelorette party for one of my Best Friends Kristie and I am still recovering! We drove up to Michigan to a little beach town called South Haven. If you live in the Chicagoland area South Haven is a super cute town about two to two in a half hours from the city and perfect for a weekend getaway!
I can’t hang with the best of them anymore. I typically can only do one night of drinking if that and then I’m done for the rest of the weekend! With a whole weekend of having fun and not really sleeping, it’s really taking me a long time to bounce back! Plus I’ve got to catch up on my sleep this week because we have our tenth annual summer lovin’ pool party this weekend! Our college friends started going to our friend Sam’s parent’s house when we were 19 and we have gone back every year. It’s so fun to all be together and to keep the tradition alive, but we definitely act like we are in college all over again and I pay for it the next day or week haha.
Anyways enough about me feeling very old! Let’s talk outfit details. Back in the 90’s, I was obsessed with skorts, if you weren’t lucky enough to wear skorts they are a cross between a skirt and shorts. The worst thing about wearing skirts in the summer is if you wear one on a windy day you’re constantly walking around with your hands at your side and if you wear shorts you get all sweaty or there is chafing involved; well at least for me. A skort is a great alternative, I don’t feel as constricted as I do in shorts and I don’t have to walk around in fear that everyone is going to see my undies in a skirt!

I love a good skort! So fun to style. And I hear you on the recovery time – it’s no joke the older you get! Lol!
