Happy Sunday, hope everyone had a great weekend! Do you ever have those weeks where you either have nothing to do or EVERYTHING to do? I had one of those everything to do weeks and I am so exhausted. Monday I went to Bottle and Bottega with two of my girlfriends. We painted a wooden palette with our initials, it was a fun Monday night activity! I have been to Bottle and Bottega for Birthdays and I know a lot of girls go for bachelorette parties. It’s a fun activity to do besides going to a bar or out to dinner! Wednesday through Friday we had a sales kickoff for work so everyone from our California office and EMEA offices were in town. Those days were filled with back to back meetings and evening activities! Friday I went to RPM Italian for dinner with a couple girls I used to work with, it was so nice to catch up and eat some delicious italian food. If you are not familiar with RPM Italian its owned by Giuliana and Bill Rancic. We actually saw Bill walking in and out of the restaurant, what a looker! 😉 The rest of the weekend my boyfriend and I went and saw the new Fast and the Furious, which he slept through most of (haha) and then just a lot of relaxing after that. It was nice after a busy week, to enjoy some downtime!

Shein Review Grade: C
I bought this top from Shein.com and wanted to give a little review on the site. I have been perusing Shein, Romwe, and Zaful for a couple of years. When I started blogging I noticed that a lot of other bloggers were purchasing items from these sites. I always thought there was a lot of really cute merchandise, but I was skeptical when I would notice that I saw the same shirt on Nasty Gals website and then it would be that same model and image on Romwe or Shein but for a cheaper price. I was always a little weary. Ever since I started blogging I understood why other bloggers purchase items from these sites because you are always trying to build new content for your readers and the items are very affordable.
Last month I decided to give it a try and purchased seven items for under $150. Super cost effective, but I tried not to have high expectations. I kept three of the seven pieces, this embroidered top, another top and an easy throw on dress. All of the items were under $30. This embroidered top pictured was by the far the best quality out of all the items and photographed really well. Some of the pieces the material was so cheap or the cuts were so off, even for being so cheap it wasn’t worth it to keep them. The shipment took well over two weeks because it came from Singapore, but I sent the rest of my items back last week and Shein has already received them. You have 60 days to return and once they receive your items your refund will be processed within 7 business days.
I would give Shein a grade of C. I have always had an eye for quality merchandise even at a cheaper price, but with my first experience, the quality definitely did outweigh the cost. I still look at the site from time to time to see if there is anything that catches my eye, but in the near future, I wouldn’t order from one of these sites again. I will never say never because I would like to try their accessories too, especially the designer dupes that I see a lot of girls have. I have shopped at retailers like Forever 21 and H&M for years that have very comparable prices and I have kept pieces for a long time. I am not saying to never shop at these stores because shopping gets expensive and sometimes there are pieces you may not want to invest a lot of money in especially pieces that are super trendy right now, like embroidery. Just that my initial suspicions were confirmed. That old saying “you get what you pay for” is very true.
Thanks for reading! If you have ever shopped at any of these retailers share your experience with us!
